Statement of Condemnation and Denunciation

The Popular Resistance Council in Aden Province condemns in the strongest terms the cowardly terrorist operation that targeted this afternoon the convoy of Brigadier General Hamdi Shukri Al-Subaihi, Commander of the 2nd Giants Division, in the “Jaoula” area of the Dar Saad District in the interim capital, Aden, through the detonation of a car bomb that led to his injury and the martyrdom and injury of five of his heroic companions.

This treacherous targeting does not only target the person of Brigadier General Shukri, but also targets security forces. The stability of the capital, Aden, represents a miserable attempt to disrupt the military and security efforts led by Brigadier General Shukri in order to consolidate the foundations of the state and security. The return of the series of assassinations at this sensitive time clearly indicates the attempts of dark forces to obstruct the recent security arrangements. We also ask God to pray for a speedy recovery for Brigadier General Hamdi Shukri and for all the wounded.

The Council calls for an urgent and accurate investigation to be opened to uncover the perpetrators and the parties behind them and bring them to justice, and calls for raising the level of security vigilance and unifying ranks to confront terrorist cells that seek to spread chaos.

These criminal acts will not deter the loyal leaders nor the popular resistance from performing their national duty to protect the homeland and the citizen, and we will remain an impenetrable barrier to all attempts aimed at Our security and the tranquility of society.
