Statement issued by the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance

Over the past hours, the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance has followed with great interest the developments in the military situation in the governorates of Hadramaut and Al-Mahra, and the political positions emerging from the dangerous escalation in the position of the United Arab Emirates, which threatens the sovereignty of the Yemeni state, by harnessing the Transitional Council to continue the war in these two governorates and disrupting efforts at a peaceful solution.

The Supreme Council of Popular Resistance sees, in the rebellion of the Transitional Council and its supporters, an imminent danger to Yemen. And its neighbours, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, highly appreciate the responsible positions issued by His Excellency the President of the Republic, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, and the absolute support for the decisions and measures mentioned in his speech, especially those related to the recharacterization of the Emirati position as a position hostile and threatening to the sovereignty of the Yemeni state, as well as support for what was stated in the decision to declare a state of emergency, which included terminating the joint defense agreement with the Emirates, and demanding that it withdraw its forces from Yemen within twenty-four hours.

He expresses The Council expresses its fraternal appreciation for the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the military, political and humanitarian tracks, and welcomes what was stated in the statement of its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which represents a true embodiment of the spirit of fraternal responsibility towards Yemen, and a sincere desire to support it to restore the state, preserve unity, and achieve security and stability on the basis of a fair partnership between all national components, including the Transitional Council. This delicate stage in its history, the strong contribution to the efforts required by the battle to restore the state, and the preparation for what may arise during this battle.
