The Popular Resistance Council in Taiz Governorate organized the annual Ramadan gathering for resistance men and popular base, under the slogan “Ramadan: Month of Great Transformations and the Great Criterion,” with wide participation from resistance members, social dignitaries, and representatives of local authorities and national army.

During the gathering, the head of the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance, Sheikh Hamoud Said Al-Makhlafi, greeted the attendees and participating leaders, affirming that the liberation stage has not stopped, and its completion is near.

He said that the resistance will soon be alongside the people of Taiz and other governorates to complete the liberation journey, announcing the near expulsion of the Houthi militia from the Al-Jund region and all non-liberated areas.

Al-Makhlafi added that the next gathering, God willing, will be in the capital Sana’a, noting that citizens in militia-controlled areas are looking forward to the launch of the decisive battle and ending the coup, and are waiting for the fronts to approach to rise against the militia, affirming that liberating Sana’a will be faster than the battle of liberating the Syrian capital Damascus.

In the welcome speech of the Popular Resistance Council in Taiz, council member Sheikh Shukri Al-Zaem welcomed the participating attendees, affirming that this gathering comes in a month where meanings of faith, patience, and steadfastness are renewed, and constitutes a station to renew determination and recall the struggle path waged by the heroes of the popular resistance, alongside the popular base, defending the country, republic, and dignity.

Al-Zaem noted that Taiz Governorate has proven, with its men, women, and brave resistance, that it is a city of determination that does not break, and was at the forefront of defenders of the state and republic project, offering convoys of martyrs, wounded, and sacrifices.

He emphasized the importance of drawing lessons from Ramadan in enhancing unity and consolidating the spirit of steadfastness, and continuing the struggle path until completing the liberation battle, ending the Houthi coup, and restoring the state.

The first deputy governor of Taiz, Abdulqawi Al-Makhlafi, affirmed that Taiz has led the project of resisting the Houthi militia since the first moments, occupying its position as the capital of awareness, struggle, and sacrifice, and the starting point of revolutions and bearer of the popular resistance banner, emphasizing that the battle with the coup is not only military but also a battle of awareness.

Al-Makhlafi appreciated the efforts of the popular resistance and the activities organized to support the national battle and enhance the presence of the state.

Sheikh Yasin Atta delivered an orientational lecture, talking about the importance of holding fast to God’s rope and unity, affirming that Islam calls for unity and rejecting division which is a cause of weakness and corruption, calling for cohesion and communication with all forces rejecting racist projects, noting that Ramadan has historically been a month of victories and great transformations.

In a political analysis speech, member of the political body in the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance Abdulhadi Al-Azazi explained that the current stage is critical and requires raising readiness at various levels, especially on the internal front through enhancing popular cohesion and moving among people.

Al-Azazi addressed the situation in Taiz Governorate, affirming the need to complete institutionalizing state institutions and finding solutions to existing crises, foremost of which is the water crisis, and greeted the efforts of the government in the temporary capital Aden, calling on it to redouble efforts, go to the field, and get closer to citizens’ concerns.

He emphasized the importance of presenting a positive and attractive model in liberated areas, considering that the success of this model would contribute to reducing the cost of liberating other non-liberated governorates.
