Marib (Special Report): The Supreme Council of Popular Resistance organized a Ramadan gathering that brought together leaders and notables from the Azal region in Marib Governorate. The meeting emphasized unifying ranks and mobilizing official and popular energies for the battle to reclaim the capital, Sana’a, from the grip of the Houthi coup militia.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance, Mr. Mohammed Azzam, conveyed greetings from the Council’s Chairman, Sheikh Hamoud Saced Al-Makhlafi, in a speech delivered via video call. He affirmed that Sana’a will remain the capital of the Yemenis and that its liberation is a national priority and a collective battle that cannot be delayed.

Azzam praised the immense sacrifices and heroism displayed by the people of Sana’a, Amran, Dhamar, and Saada governorates in confronting the clerical coup project, stressing that these sacrifices lay the groundwork for restoring the state and building its institutions on inclusive national foundations.

He called for raising societal awareness, strengthening popular alignment, and intensifying communication with our steadfast people in the governorates under militia control to boost popular rejection, break the wall of fear, and pave the way for the day of liberation. He appreciated the efforts of the sheikhs and notables of the Azal region in bridging divides, ending disputes, and solidifying national unity values at this pivotal stage.

Sheikh Nasser Al-Naqib, Chairman of the Popular Resistance Council in Dhamar Governorate, emphasized that the national battle requires more preparation, mobilization, and intensified efforts at all levels, noting that the fight against the Houthi militia is an existential one, and liberating Sana’a is the key to real and only peace for Yemen.

Al-Naqib pointed out that the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance continues to uphold its national principles, supporting the national army, security forces, and legitimate state institutions in defending the republic, restoring the state, and ending the coup.

The meeting concluded with leaders and notables of the Azal region affirming the need to combine efforts, overcome differences, unite ranks, and actively prepare for the battle to liberate the seized capital, Sana’a, and all governorates under Houthi control, and to end the coup that has weighed on the nation for nearly 12 years.
