Al-Turbah: Special
The Popular Resistance Council in Al-Shamayatain District held a meeting gathering preachers and orators in Al-Turbah City, under the slogan “The Pulpit of Guidance.. A Pulpit of Awareness and Resistance.”
In a speech via video call, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance, Sheikh Hamoud S. Al-Mukhlافي, praised this event, commending the examples of struggle and patriotism presented by Al-Shamayatain District, and the awareness and effective presence of its people in the battle of awareness and resistance.
Sheikh Al-Mukhlافي affirmed that preachers and orators bear a great responsibility in guiding society, spreading values, mobilizing energies, strengthening unity, and confronting the sectarianism, distortion, and targeting of national identity practiced by the Houthi militia.
For his part, Dr. Jamal Al-Akhali delivered the speech of the Popular Resistance Council in Al-Shamayatain, emphasizing that this meeting embodies the strength of the relationship between the resistance and its popular base in the district, which was at the forefront of igniting the spark of resistance on March 24, 2015, when it stood proudly against the coup militia and its followers.
Al-Akhali stressed the pivotal role of preachers and orators in raising society’s awareness of the danger posed by the Houthi militia, which continues to mobilize against Taiz and commit violations in areas under its control. He called for continuing to expose this project, warn against it, and strengthen the spirit of resistance across various fronts.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Saeed, one of the event’s guests, spoke about national responsibility—its stages, directions, and its faith-based, constitutional, personal, humanitarian, and social foundations that produce and enhance national loyalty.
He called on preachers to fulfill their role in warning against corruption, corrupt individuals, vice, and internal conflicts, and in defending identity, the Republic, national symbols, and unity, as well as supporting the National Army and the Popular Resistance.
The meeting affirmed that defending land and honor is a religious and moral duty, and stressed the need to recall religious texts that reinforce the values of dignity and freedom, alongside working to boost society’s morale and urging it to support the Popular Resistance and strengthen its steadfastness.
It also emphasized the importance of focusing on unifying national commonalities, warning against alien ideas targeting the social fabric, and confronting rumors aimed at undermining confidence in the Popular Resistance and the National Army, while stressing the need to avoid narrow political quarrels and direct discourse toward confronting the common enemy.
The meeting called for adopting a balanced and conscious discourse, free from extremism and exclusion, that addresses people’s daily concerns, reinforces the values of compassion and solidarity, and affirms that society’s role in supporting fighters is no less important than their role on the battlefield—whether through words, support, or awareness—contributing to consolidating a cohesive and solid internal front.
The event featured a presentation of a report on the martyr Abdu Numan Al-Zurayqi, reviewing key milestones of his life of struggle and his sacrifices. It also included a chanting segment, followed by an open discussion in which several preachers and orators participated, affirming the importance of such meetings in unifying religious discourse, enhancing societal awareness, and supporting the battle of awareness alongside the battle on the ground.
