The Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance called on the sons of the Yemeni people to unite ranks, undertake comprehensive national mobilization, and raise readiness to restore the state and end the Houthi coup. It affirmed that the roots of the Yemeni crisis lie in the continuation of the Houthi coup project and its resulting undermining of state institutions, perpetuation of conflict, and depletion of the country’s resources.

The Council said in a statement that the tragedy Yemen is experiencing is not the result of a passing political dispute, but rather a direct outcome of the Houthi militia coup that targeted the state, the republic, and its institutions. It dragged the country into a vortex of wars, economic collapse, and division, and inflicted grave damage on the national identity and the future of Yemenis.

The statement affirmed that any real solution to the Yemeni crisis requires ending the coup and restoring the Yemeni state on the foundations of republicanism, equal citizenship, and the rule of law. It stressed that the Houthi project represents the principal threat to Yemen’s unity and stability.

The Council warned against the escalation carried out by the Houthi militia, and against reports of its readiness to target the Red Sea and close the Bab al-Mandab Strait in service of the Iranian project. It considered that this threatens the security of Yemen, the region, and international navigation, and necessitates unifying national efforts to end the coup and restore state institutions.

In its statement, the Council addressed six messages to various national components. In the first, it called on the people of areas under the control of the Houthi coup militia to reject the militia and rise up against it in cities, districts, and sub-districts. It noted that the people of these areas face a historic duty toward the homeland, that they are the beating heart of Yemen and an integral part of its identity and future, and affirmed that they have been and remain among the greatest victims of the Houthi project.

It also called on the people of the liberated governorates to rally behind the legitimacy, the National Army, and the Popular Resistance, to overcome differences and side conflicts, and to raise the level of readiness and undertake full mobilization and preparedness to confront the Houthi militia and complete the battle of liberation.

It urged Yemenis in exile and the diaspora to continue supporting the Yemeni cause and to harness their expertise and capabilities to support the battle to restore the state and end the Houthi coup, and to contribute to building Yemen’s future.

The Council further called on the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, local authorities, and political forces and parties to rise to the level of the stage, to leave behind hesitation, to take advantage of the state of consensus among the components, to prioritize the interest of the nation over all narrow calculations, to unify the national decision, to activate state institutions, and to harness resources and capabilities to support mobilization and the battle of liberation.

The statement emphasized the importance of the historic role of Yemeni tribes, praised the “Matarah Al-Karamah” in Al-Jawf Governorate, and called on it to direct tribal mobilization to be a stand for restoring the homeland and for the sake of its suffering and disappeared men and women. It called for linking this to the state’s military decision in a way that strengthens the unity of the national battle and serves the goal of restoring the state.

The Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance also expressed its appreciation for the brotherly positions supporting Yemen from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Coalition countries. It called for a firmer and more decisive stance to support the battle to restore Yemen’s state institutions and confront the Iranian project and its Houthi tool, in a way that preserves regional security and protects its peoples.

The Council concluded its statement by affirming that the current stage represents a pivotal moment in Yemen’s history. It called on all Yemenis to rally around an inclusive national project to restore the state and the republic, and affirmed its confidence that the will of Yemenis will overcome the projects of darkness, leading to a safe and stable Yemen that preserves the dignity of its citizens.
