Taiz: Excutive

The Youth Department of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance concluded a two-day training workshop aimed at enhancing political awareness among young men and women in Taiz Governorate, with the participation of General Secretariat staff and several activists and individuals interested in public affairs.

The workshop covered multiple themes focusing on Yemen’s history over the past hundred years in both its northern and southern parts at the time. A comprehensive overview was presented on the odious Imamate rule in northern Yemen, along with a review of the colonial era in the south.

The workshop reviewed key events since the establishment of the Republic in the north and the expulsion of occupation in the south, and the subsequent events, milestones of national struggle, turning points, changes, conflicts, and political alliances that Yemen witnessed.

The workshop also included explanations of many widely used political terms and concepts, aiming to enhance participants’ political understanding and enable them to read the scene with deeper awareness.

The workshop aims to raise the level of political awareness among youth, considering them the fundamental pillar in the battle to restore the state and build the future, and to empower them with a conscious reading of history that helps understand the present and foresee the features of the coming phase.
